Pepper Steak Ramen
A savory, saucy pepper steak ramen made with tender velveted beef, colorful bell peppers, spaghetti noodles, and Just Us Seasonings.
Ingredients
For the Beef
2 lbs beef round steak, thinly sliced into strips (or beef of your choice)
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
Seasonings
1 tbsp Just Us Meat Seasoning
1 tbsp Just Us Sazon Seasoning
½ tbsp Just Us Salt-Free Garlic & Herb Seasoning
½ tbsp garlic pepper
Peppers & Sauce
½ red bell pepper
½ green bell pepper
½ yellow bell pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tbsp jarred minced garlic)
2 tbsp dark soy sauce, plus more to taste
½ packet Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp olive oil (I used beef tallow)
1 cup water
Noodles
½ lb spaghetti noodles, or pasta noodles of your choice
Directions
1. Velvet the beef.
Cut the beef into thin strips and place it in a bowl. Add the rice wine vinegar and cornstarch and toss until the beef is evenly coated. Set aside while you prepare the vegetables.
2. Prep the vegetables.
Cut the red, green, and yellow bell peppers into strips or chunks. Mince the garlic.
3. Cook and season the beef.
Heat the sesame oil and olive oil or beef tallow in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and season with the Just Us Meat Seasoning, Sazon Seasoning, Salt-Free Garlic & Herb Seasoning, and garlic pepper.
4. Add the peppers and sauce.
Once the beef is about halfway cooked, add the bell peppers and garlic. Stir in 2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce and ½ packet of Beefy Onion Soup Mix.
5. Make it saucy.
Pour in 1 cup of water and stir everything together. Reduce the heat to low and allow the flavors to come together while you prepare the noodles.
6. Cook the noodles.
Boil ½ pound of spaghetti noodles according to the package directions. Drain and add the noodles directly to the skillet.
7. Finish the ramen.
Toss the noodles with the pepper steak and sauce. Add a little more dark soy sauce to taste, if desired. Let everything simmer together for about 5 minutes.
Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed. Turn off the heat and serve hot.
Just Us Tip: Velveting the beef with cornstarch and rice wine vinegar helps give it that tender texture that makes this pepper steak ramen SO good.
